BJP Dissenters Hold Meeting in DVG: High Command Orders Silence on Leadership Change
Davangere: A meeting of BJP dissenters was held at the GMIT Guest House in the city, led by rebel MLA Basangouda Yatnal. Former MPs Pratap Simha, G.M. Siddeshwar, and BJP MLA B.P. Harish participated in the meeting, said the sources.
Speaking about the issue of Vijayendra‘s replacement, Vijayapura MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal stated that the high command has instructed not to make public statements. National leaders have conveyed that there should be no open discussions on this matter at present.
“The high command will decide in due course. We have not insisted on changing the state president. We have stated where 38 of us should speak. The next steps are left to the high command. The high command will decide regarding Vijayendra’s change,” he said.
He expressed confidence that a suitable decision will be made. The high command has instructed not to give public statements, hence he mentioned that they would refrain from discussing the changes.
